Downtown street cleanup set for Sunday, May 2
Vehicles should be moved from Main Street, 9th-14th, by 6:30 a.m.
As part of the City of Crete's Spring Cleanup, members of the Crete Volunteer Fire Department will wash down Main Ave. on Sunday morning, May 2, kicking off a downtown cleanup day.
Vehicles along Main, from 9th to 14th streets, will need to be moved by 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, prior to the start of the street wash at approximately 7 a.m.
After the fire department members are done with the street cleaning, downtown property and business owners are encouraged to continue cleanup activities by sweeping sidewalks in front of their stores and properties and cleaning their front windows.
The citywide Spring Cleanup runs from May 1-8 and includes: Transfer Station Specials (May 1, 4, and 8); a community shred event at Pinnacle Bank on May 1; and major appliance pickup (must call by May 5). For more information contact the Public Works Office at City Hall.
