Riverside Cemetery includes new columbarium

City of Crete officials were joined by members of the Cemetery Board and the Crete Chamber of Commerce on Nov. 28 for a dedication of the new columbarium site located in the northwest section of Riverside Cemetery. A columbarium is a respectful and appropriate structure for the placement of funeral urns and its addition to Riverside gives residents another option in honoring the last wishes of loved ones.

Two columbarium walls were initially constructed with spaces for urns on one of three circular, concrete pads, which will allow for future expansion. For columbarium inquiries and purchases, please contact City Hall at 402.826.4312 or 826.4313.

Present on the morning of Nov. 28 were City Council member Dave Bauer, City Administrator Tom Ourada, Cemetery Sexton Dean Pracheil, Keith Gilmore of Gilmore and Associates, Inc., Jason Maly of Maly Construction, Cemetery Board members Eleanor Henning, Stan Rychecky, Gene Eggebraaten, Sue Dawson, and Gerry Johnson; Richard and Roberta Strain, and Crete Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kayleigh Schadwinkel and additional chamber representatives.
