Support Crete Public Library
Crete Public Library is supported by the community, including its many volunteers. These volunteers are members of the library advisory board and Friends of the Crete Public Library. In addition, the library has volunteers on a regular basis and many who help with the Summer Reading Program and the Reading with Friends program in July.
Library Advisory Board
The five-member Library Advisory Board participates and counsels the library director in all aspects of the library, including, budgeting, collections, programming. Current board members are:

Friends of the Library
The mission statement of the Friends of the Crete Public Library reads as follows, “A private foundation to supplement, support and service the goals/services/programs of the CPL.”
The Friends of the Library are a national non-profit group of citizens who are dedicated to the betterment of public libraries. The Friends of the Crete Public Library consist of 13 board members. The current Board President is Carrie Wilsman. The Friends' support of the library ensures the needs of the Crete community are further enhanced through the collection of materials as well as programming initiatives.

Library Volunteers
The library benefits from the efforts of volunteers of all ages. In all instances, volunteers will be held to the same standards as paid library staff. Volunteers will be accepted and utilized when a need for such assistance has been determined by the Director. To volunteer, complete and return the Volunteer Form to the library.
Current library hours:
- Monday and Friday - 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday - 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday - 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
