Applications have closed for these seasonal positions in the Parks and Recreation Department (Wildwood Pool). 

Crete Recreation's Youth Swim Team is a well-established team with a strong connection to the families in Crete and surrounding neighborhoods. The team fosters a competitive environment which encourages families to commit to the season competitively while fostering a fun summer experience.

Swim Team Head Coach - (This position has been filled.) Candidates must be an energetic, experienced, reliable Head Coach to lead this summer swim team. Reports to the Parks and Recreation Director. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 1-year competitive swim coach/assistant coach experience; High school graduate required, current college student or college graduate preferred; Must have a valid driver’s license and pass drug and background tests; Should be empathetic, patient and understand that swimmers have varying abilities; Exceptional swimming coaches are those who place performance over results and can motivate and inspire; Strong organization and management skills; Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Swim Team Assistant Coach - (Applications have closed) Candidates must be energetic, experienced, reliable and willing to assist head coach and parks and recreation staff. Reports to the Head Coach and Parks and Recreation Director. Minimum Qualifications: possess or obtain CPR & Basic First Aid certification; proficient in English; must be at least 16 years of age; high school graduate preferred; must have a valid driver’s license and pass drug and background tests; should be empathetic, patient and understand that swimmers have varying abilities; strong organization and management skills; strong communication and interpersonal skills; willingness to complete safety training for swim coaches.

Pool Manager - (Applications have closed) Seasonal position. General functions: This position is under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Director. Must organize, implement and manage all aspects of the operation of the city swimming pool. Swimming knowledge is necessary, but most importantly, must have a positive attitude and communicate effectively with all team members and patrons. Minimum Qualifications: Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License; Proficient in English; Must be at least 18 years of age; Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; Must pass criminal background check; Must have or be able to obtain a Pool Operator’s Certificate; Must have or be able to obtain CPR for Professional Rescuers Certification.

Pool Assistant Manager - (Applications have closed) Seasonal position. General functions: Under general supervision of the Pool Manager, the Assistant Pool Manager is responsible for helping manage the operation of the swimming pool and the lifeguards/swim instructors and cashiers. Minimum Qualifications: Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License; Proficient in English; Must be at least 18 years of age; Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; Must pass criminal background check; Must have or be able to obtain a Pool Operator’s Certificate; Must have or be able to obtain CPR for Professional Rescuers Certification.
