  • Nebraska Passport program, Wednesday, June 18 at 1 p.m. Learn more about the Nebraska Passport and receive your own copy of the passport during this event.
  • Bluey Reads Day, Wednesday, July 16 at 6 p.m. Join Bluey and Bingo on a sleepytime adventure! Youth can come dressed in your coolest pajamas with your favorite stuffed animal to hear Bluey stories, receive a Bluey activity booklet, and be able to take pictures with Bluey. Then you will leave your stuffed animal at the library, so they can have a fun library sleepover. Come back the next day to pick up your stuffed animal and see what they got up to in the library at night.
  • Shark Week showing of "Jaws," Tuesday, July 22 at 2 p.m. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of its release; free popcorn and drinks.
  • Saline County Services program, Wednesday, July 23 at 1 p.m. Find out about Saline County Aging Services, Public Health Solutions - District Health Department, and Saline County Area Transit.
  • Secret Life of Bees with UNL Bee Lab, Wednesday, July 23 at 1:30 p.m. Learn why bees are vital to our environment from the UNL Bee Lab. Participants will discover how bees help pollinate plants, support food production, and keep ecosystems healthy. Enjoy a honey tasting.
  • Teen Night - Library After Dark, Friday, Aug. 1 from 5 - 10 p.m. Registration required - contact the library.
  • Adult Craft Night - Diamond Painting, Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 5:30 p.m. Register for the next Adult Craft Night by calling the library at 402-826-3809. Limited spots available, $5 fee.
  • Adult Puzzle Race, Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 5:30 p.m. at The 1206 (1206 Main Ave) $30 fee per team of 4; 21 and over event

Saturday family-friendly programs

  • Touch-A-Truck, Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Bring the whole family to the library's parking lot to get an up-close look at a wide variety of city vehicles, including fire trucks, police cars, street sweepers, snow plows, and more. Kids and adults alike will have the chance to explore the equipment and meet the people who operate them. The first 100 kids will receive a free construction hat, generously provided by our Friends of the Library.
  • Upcoming: Teddy Bear Workshop, Pokemon Day, Build Your Own Birdhouse, Dinosaur T-Party, Geek Out Expo

  • Tea and Threads: Tuesdays at 5 p.m.; Laid-back atmosphere, friendly conversation, and creative inspiration for those who crochet, from seasoned pros to beginners.
  • Clase de Crochet: Segundo Sábado de cada mes a la 2:00 PM. ¡Ven y aprende los conceptos básicos del crochet en la biblioteca!
  • Stay and Play - weekdays from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., the library will have all of our toys out for families who have 0-5-year-old kids.
