West 13th railroad crossing replaced in November
Update November: This project is now completed and the railroad crossing is open to regular traffic.
Update for Nov. 4: A railroad crew started replacement work on Monday, Nov. 4. The crossing is closed to all traffic until work is completed. See below for more information on this railroad project.
Update for Oct. 28: The City received notice from railroad personnel that the closing has been delayed until Thursday (Oct. 31).
Information received Oct. 21: Burlington Northern railroad officials have notified the City of Crete that the West 13th Street railroad crossing replacement will start on Monday (Oct. 28) with a tentative reopening set for the following week on Nov. 6.
The crossing will be closed to traffic at this time. The City was also informed the adjacent road along the east side of the Maples - Crete Heritage Society property, between West 13th and West 16th Streets, will be closed during the day, but opened up each evening to traffic.
West 13th Street and Tuxedo Road leading into Tuxedo Park can be accessed from Arizona Ave. off of Highway 33/103 on the west edge of town.
