Original article: Crete Recreation's Riptide Swim Team will host an exhibition on Saturday, July 2 at 9 a.m. at Wildwood Pool.
Youth swimmers from this year's team will showcase events from the season’s meets. Swimmers report at 8 a.m. for warmups and events start at 9 a.m. Events will run in the same order as seen at swim meets. Additional Information about swim team will also be available during the event.
Spectators and those interested in participating in swim team are welcome. The crowd will move over to Wildwood Park at 12 p.m. for pictures and so youth and families can ask questions about swim team participation.
About Crete RipTide Swim Team: kids ages 5-18 participate in a competitive swim league with Saturday meets in the Kansas-Nebraska Swim League and entries in the Cornhusker State Games in July. Members of the team are required to purchase their own swim suit and goggles. Weekday practices are held at Wildwood Pool or indoor workouts at alternate locations on bad weather days. All swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool unaided. Team registration is announced in April and generally due the first week in May each year.
